Fluid and Solid

G'day!

Welcome back to DB Digital, briefly covering Digital Strategy, Product Development and Personal Improvement.

Digital Strategy ➔ Fluid and Solid

A digital strategy serves as an essential guide. It provides a clear direction to navigate through technology changes and consumer behaviours. A well-defined strategy ensures adaptability and aligns business goals with audience needs.

However, the digital strategy also shouldn't need to change often. The strategy is a framework fluid enough to adapt, and solid enough to serve its purpose long-term. Like a routine in life, the digital strategy serves you daily with benefits over time.

I spend about a quarter of my time each week talking about digital strategy with business owners. Here's the simple digital strategy guide I use with my clients - use code SDSFREE to get it for free.

Product Development ➔ Rapid Product Workshop

Innovation is crucial for staying competitive. Below is a workshop outline to foster creativity and assist a solo practitioner or small team in developing practical product ideas.

You can also purchase the full product planner that I use with my clients. Use code PDP50 to get 50% off.

  1. Generate Ideas Actively: (10mins)
A discussion where everyone contributes as many ideas as possible.
  2. Identify Common Themes: (10mins)
Group similar ideas and identify common themes.
  3. Highlight Promising Concepts: (10mins)
Use a voting system to allow team members to vote on ideas.
  4. Evaluate Feasibility and Impact: (10mins)
Take a bit more time to discuss and assess ideas using a priority matrix.
  5. Choose Practical Ideas: (10mins)
Focus on selecting an idea that aligns with goals and is feasible.
  6. Identify Essential Features: (10mins)
Break down the chosen idea into key features.
  7. Develop Detailed Action Plan: (10mins)
Create a draft plan for product development and launch.

Personal Improvement Resumes and Cover Letters

As part of my developer coaching service I meet a lot of developers.

It's amazing how developers don't want to put together a resume or cover letter.

They know how they just don't want to. It's a chore.

When I was a developer applying for jobs, I had to put together a cover letter and address the job criteria and I hated it, so I get it.

But after I became a hiring manager, a good application makes a difference.

With the advent of AI, the likes of ChatGPT can review our resume and write a cover letter that addresses the job ad and selection criteria.

However, you do need to review what AI writes for you to make sure it's the truth. You don't want BS in your job application. And you also don't want to sound like a tool.

Let me know if you need help to smooth it out - for free, just DM me.
